NEW FOR 2013 - THE SWARM has mutated! The sting is in its tail as the attack against planet Earth continues.
Be dragged backwards into a blind 127ft drop before hurtling through the wasted landscape in a series of gut-wrenching near misses, including, new for 2013, the mangled metal of a devastated billboard.
Face the fear head on, or brave it backwards on the last two rows… do you dare take on THE SWARM?
Riders must be at least 1.4m tall, but no taller than 1.96m (that's 6' 5").
Riders must be properly secured in the seat, which may not be possible for some guests with larger torso or thigh measurements approaching 51 inches. THORPE PARK advise guests to use the test seat at the ride entrance before queueing.
Guests must wear footwear on THE SWARM, we cannot allow heeled shoes or sandals on the ride.
If you're unsure, some rides have test seats which may be used before entering the queue line.
For full information about THORPE PARK height requirements and to view all our extreme rides, rollercoasters and attractions, take a look at the Full Attraction Listing or see your gatemap on the day of your visit.

I Haven't Been To Thorpe Park Yet, But The Swarm Looks Amazing. It'll Be My First Roller Coaster. Many Of My Friends Say I Haven't Lived. Anyway Really Looking Forward To This Ride. I Can't Stop Watching The TV Advert. Makes Me Wanna Go Even More. Anyway, Everyone Says Thorpe Park's Amazing So Thumbs Up To 'The Swarm'(:

As Europe's tallest winged coaster, THE SWARM has some impressive stats:
The tallest wing coaster in Europe and the second highest in the Park.
...beaten only by Colossus... but THE SWARM's inversions are more terrifying.
Make sure you book your place to experience it…
Genuine plane wreckage, devastated helicopter and flaming fire truck all to add to the apocalyptic devastation.
That’s 2,543 feet of unimaginable torture!
Hurtle through the air at death-defying speeds of 57mph!
You'll be positioned either side of the track with nothing above or below you...leaving you vulnerable and exposed!
So you'll be plummeting from 127 feet upside-down!
...and once riders are on it'll be nearing 12 tonnes - around the same as the THORPE PARK Express bus
