If you’re anything like us, then you’ll agree that Halloween is the BEST holiday (sorry Christmas). You get to dress up, eat loads of ridiculous food and generally let the weirdness out. And what better way to celebrate than by throwing an amazing party? Grab your best gals and ghouls and get the fake blood flowing as we reel off our top tips for throwing the Halloween party of the century!

Top Tips For The Ultimate Halloween Party

1. Theme

Whilst generic ‘Halloween’ is kind of a theme in itself, it’s so much more fun to be more specific. People get way more creative with their costumes and you’ll have a much better idea of what direction you’ll want to go in with your costume, decorations and all the other bits that go along with it! If you’re stuck for ideas, here’s a few to get the creative juices flowing: http://www.wisebread.com/15-theme-ideas-for-a-memorable-halloween-party

2. Décor

Let’s face it, your living room isn’t the spookiest of places (well, maybe it is if you haven’t cleaned in a while, who knows), so the first thing you’ll want to do is dress the place up to create a creepy atmosphere. Whilst you can pop down to your local pound shop to keep costs down, it’s also an excuse to get crafty! 3. Food

If Halloween isn’t a time to go all out with a themed spread then we don’t know what is! There’s so much fun you can have with party food to make it really memorable and fun. You don’t have to spend loads of cash either, just get creative with your display to make for an Instagram worthy buffet. Here are some ideas we love: http://www.food.com/ideas/halloween-party-food-recipes-6177?c=13867

4. Music

Everybody loves a themed playlist (well, if they don’t, they’ll just have to suffer through it because we definitely do!). It can be hard to find that right balance when most searches for Halloween playlists don’t extend much further than the Ghostbusters and the Time Warp. Figure out what kind of mood you want to set: does it need to be upbeat and silly or understated and subtle but still with a spooky theme? Here’s a ‘grown-up’ Halloween playlist idea to start you off: http://www.food.com/ideas/halloween-party-food-recipes-6177?c=13867

5. Drinks

Time to let out your inner creepy bartender and go wild with awesome cocktail concoctions. You can even keep them within your theme and call them potions or witches brew. Either that or keep things totally understated and have a general autumnal theme with pumpkin spiced goodness all around. Either way, here’s a couple of lists you can start mixing:

6. Games

No Halloween party is complete without some ghoulish games to get involved with! They’re an essential part of the tradition, and usually end up with somebody covered in flour or worse. That said, it’s always fun to think outside the box a little bit and get your guests involved in something they haven’t played before! Check out these hilarious Halloween games we’ve found:
