Learning through enjoyment is the ethos THORPE PARK Resort is championing to teachers and students alike. Our goal is to harness students’ excitement and provide the framework to challenge and inspire them. 

We know that some teachers have different reasons to book an educational trip depending on the time of year!

Thrill seekers – We recommend making the most of our free downloadable self-guided resources, or downloading our popular GPS app for only £1pp.

 

‘Edu’tasters – We recommend booking onto our NEW FOR 2018: Thorpe Education Daily Talks (T.E.D). These 30 minute talks engage audiences and offer bitesize learning in science, business and marketing. Book a seat for £1.50pp.

 

All ‘Ed’clusive – We recommend looking at our popular Thrills Workshops and adding a Park Speed session. The Thrills programme offers subject breadth in an interactive environment. Each workshop lasts 45 minutes. Add our 15 minute park speed sessions which also include a free one shot fast track on a selected ride for that little bit extra!

STEM WORKSHOPS

Our flagship science workshop/ T.E.D. Talks explores key principles of Physics and Maths with the inspiring backdrop of THORPE PARK Resort’s exhilarating rollercoasters. Discover how crucial considerations of accelerations, Newton’s Laws and Forces are in designing and maintaining Stealth, The SWARM and our thrilling rides as well as ensuring the safety of all our guests. Learning objectives include:

  • Discuss the effects of forces and acceleration on rollercoasters and rides
  • Explain energy conversions on the rollercoaster

A workshop designed to show how important mathematics is to a successful business such as THORPE PARK Resort. As well as keeping us on top financially, maths is crucial to keeping our guests safe as the rides are meticulously planned in dimensions and accelerations.

  • Describe, interpret and compare observed distributions of a single variable through: appropriate graphical representation and appropriate measures of central tendency (mean, mode, median)
  • Use standard units of mass, length, time, money and other measures
  • Understand and use the properties of materials and the performance of structural elements in the design and building of rides
  • Understand how more advanced mechanical systems used  enable changes in movement and force

BUSINESS WORKSHOPS

Explore how THORPE PARK Resort operates as such a successful and exciting business. We demonstrate how creative Marketing, efficient Environmental Management and evolving Customer Service are all required to achieve them.

The Marketing workshop/ T.E.D Talks demonstrates the importance of Market Research, understanding your target market and delivering a unique product to bring your curriculum to life. Developed alongside our creative Marketing teams, embark on a journey through our brand re-positioning and exciting new changes at THORPE PARK Resort.

The Guest Care workshop/ T.E.D Talks highlights the importance of good customer service to a successful business like THORPE PARK Resort. An opportunity to discover how we adapt to different customers and look to satisfy customer needs and exceed expectations to keep our customer coming back.

  • Understand the range of customer needs and the importance of customer characteristics.
  • Discover meeting and exceeding customer expectations.

This workshop explores how we recruit the right staff and train them the right way to create a unique atmosphere at THORPE PARK Resort. Discover how recruitment, training and employee relations combine to acquire and develop a team of over 1,000 staff in a wide variety of operational and support roles.
